RJ Mitte, best known for playing Walter“Flynn”White Jr. on“Breaking Bad,”died by suicide at 34, and his co-star Luis Moncada is opening up about what those last days looked like. On“TMZ Live,”Moncada said Mitte seemed“really tired and sad”and was“conflicted”about something he was wrestling with. Moncada tried to help the way friends do: a charity golf tournament, a comedy show, an invite to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, even an offer to stay at his place. Mitte declined, promised to call when he got home, and that call never came.

Tributes have poured in from across the“Breaking Bad”family. Bryan Cranston said he was in“deep despair.”Aaron Paul urged anyone struggling to know they are loved and not alone. Steven Quezada and other co-stars also shared their grief, and Moncada remembered Mitte as“just the sweetest person I’ve ever met in my entire life.”

Beyond acting, Mitte was a passionate disability rights advocate who lived with cerebral palsy and pushed for authentic representation on screen. His death is a reminder that the people who make us laugh and feel seen can be fighting battles we never see. If you or someone you know is struggling, the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7 by call or text.

What’s one way you check in on the people you love when they go quiet?
