Zara Larsson can add another major line to her résumé. The Trevor Project just named her its 2026 Mental Health Champion of the Year, putting her in a group that includes Megan Thee Stallion, Dua Lipa, Dylan Mulvaney, Janelle Monáe and Lil Nas X.
The honor recognizes more than a moment. Larsson has spent years speaking publicly in support of trans rights, headlining major Pride celebrations and partnering with Maybelline’s Brave Together mental health initiative in 2024. In her response to the award, she said she has never understood having a platform and not using it to speak up, and that she wants young LGBTQ+ people to know she sees them, supports them, and that they should always feel free to be exactly who they are.
It all lands during the biggest stretch of her career. The 28-year-old scored a Grammy nomination for“Midnight Sun”and took home Billboard’s Women in Music breakthrough award earlier this year. So what do you think: which artist uses their platform for good the way Zara does? Tell us in the comments.
