The original Broadway cast recording of Hamilton: An American Musical has officially spent 500 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Cast Albums chart, a milestone no other album has ever reached on any currently published Billboard ranking. The album debuted at the top on Oct. 17, 2015, and 11 years to the day later, it’s still there. That’s 500 of its 576 total weeks on the chart spent in the top spot, or 87% of its chart life.

The gap between Hamilton and everyone else is the real story. Since the Cast Albums chart launched in 2006, only four albums have managed even 10 weeks at No. 1. Wicked sits in second place with 355 weeks. Jersey Boys has 75 and The Book of Mormon has 15. Hamilton’s 500 weeks more than doubles its closest competition. The album has also spent 575 weeks on the Billboard 200 and remains the only cast recording to reach at least 500 weeks on that chart.

Credit the staying power of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s score and the original cast, including Daveed Diggs, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Leslie Odom Jr. and Phillipa Soo, whose performances turned the album into a cultural touchstone well beyond Broadway. From the Disney+ film to the mixtape and remix album, the Hamilton universe keeps pulling new listeners in. So which song from the album are you still playing in 2026? Let us know in the comments.
