Snyder is throwing its first Boomtown Beer&Music Festival on Saturday, October 24, and the concerts won’t cost you a dime. Live music runs 12 hours straight, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., in historic Downtown Snyder, with Ian Moore and his full band headlining a nine-act bill that also features SOUTHFM, Cut Throat Finches, Jordan Tyler Haynes and the Kitchen Choir, the Taylor Ochs Trio, Terri Knight, Jonathan Hester, Jess Goodlett, and Haydn Bartlow of Fallback.

The craft beer side of the festival is ticketed at $60 per person, which gets you ten 4-ounce pours, samples from seven Texas breweries, and 21 craft beers to work through. Early-bird tickets have already sold out, so don’t wait around. More than 26 vendors will line the downtown square with food, shopping, and family-friendly activities, and a Friday Night Pre-Party with Paco Estrada on October 23 kicks the weekend off from 7 to 10 p.m. The whole event ties into Snyder’s SPARK! Places of Innovation Smithsonian traveling exhibition and its“Boomtown: Energy Innovation”theme.

Snyder sits about 90 miles southeast of Lubbock, which makes this an easy day trip for Lawton listeners, and the festival lands a week before Halloween. Free music, a revived downtown square, and fall weather in Texas. What more do you need on a Saturday?
