Wedding Guest Orders Four Pizzas After Buffet Runs Out and Reddit Has His Back

A wedding with 70 guests turned into a full-on internet debate when the reception buffet ran out of food before everyone was served. One guest noticed some tables were already grabbing seconds while others hadn’t received a first plate, so he and his wife ordered four large pizzas and chicken wings from a nearby restaurant. They shared the food with other guests in the same hungry situation, which sounds like a solid move until the groom’s in-laws confronted them about ordering outside food at the wedding.

The guest brought the story to Reddit’s r/AITAH in January 2024, and commenters overwhelmingly sided with him. The crowd pushed back hard on the catering arrangements, with one of the top responses pointing out that“there is no reason other tables should’ve had seconds before you had firsts.”The internet basically agreed on one thing: for a wedding buffet, you always order more than what’s needed.

The story ended in the best way possible. The groom’s father-in-law later hosted an“After Wedding Shindig”featuring barbecue, desserts, games and dozens of pizzas. So the pizza problem got solved with more pizza, and everyone went home fed. What’s your wedding buffet horror story, and would you have ordered the pizzas too? Tell us below.
