This TikTok Skit Nails Every Cringey Anti-Bullying Assembly You Ever Sat Through

If your school ever gathered everyone in the gym to hear a stranger with a microphone talk about bullying, this TikTok is going to feel personal. Aidan Watts (@aidanwattss) just posted a skit parodying the classic anti-bullying assembly, and it’s blown up to roughly 2 million likes. His fictional presenter, Mr. Thomas, aka TJ, says his favorite food is Oreos and tries way too hard to win over a room of unimpressed students, and the accuracy is almost too much to handle.

The comment section exploded with over 4,000 replies, and most of them are people swapping memories of assemblies that missed the mark. Unhelpful advice, awkward group activities, forced participation. But not everyone piled on. Some commenters defended the speakers, noting that getting through to teenagers is genuinely tough, and others remembered presentations that actually stuck because the person on stage was honest and relatable about what they’d been through.

So the real question isn’t whether the skit is funny. It clearly is. The bigger takeaway is what separates an assembly students tune out from one they remember. When the message is scripted and performative, kids check out. When it comes from someone real, it lands. What’s the most memorable school assembly you ever sat through? Drop it in the comments.
