RJ Mitte, best known for playing Walter“Flynn”White Jr. across all five seasons of Breaking Bad, has died by suicide in Texas. He was 34. A rep for the actor confirmed the news to People on Monday, October 12, and Brownsville Police say officers responded to an emergency call around 12:50 p.m. local time and found Mitte dead at his residence. The cause and manner of death remain pending as the investigation continues.

Mitte was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at age 3, and he built a second legacy around that experience. He served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s, acted as president of The Mitte Foundation, and was one of the most consistent voices calling for authentic disability representation on screen. He was also engaged to Kennedy Suarez, which he announced in October 2025 after four years together.

His rep asked the public to respect the privacy of his family and loved ones as they grieve. If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 for free, confidential support any time of day.
