Harry and Meghan had quite the reentry moment this week. The couple stepped out in Nottingham on Thursday for their first official joint engagement since moving back to the UK in August, and it turned into a full-on frenzy. Crowds surrounded their Range Rover and blocked the exit, forcing police to step in and guide people back so the car could move. Six years after leaving for California, the Sussexes are clearly still a major draw.

The outing itself was all about giving back. They visited Epic Partners, a children’s charity on Edale Road, stopped by the Community Recording Studio for an acting workshop, and met with Hubb Community Kitchen members at the Himmah Hub food bank. Harry, 42, and Meghan, 45, returned to England with Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, but according to King Charles, they won’t be acting as working royals while here. They’re described as private citizens with commercial and charitable interests.

That in-between status is the tension running underneath everything. The star power is undeniable, the family drama with William and the King hasn’t cooled off, and every public appearance now comes with security headaches attached. So what do you think: should Harry and Meghan keep doing these big public outings, or does the chaos prove the whole thing needs a rethink?
