Jake Lloyd, the actor who played young Anakin Skywalker in“Star Wars: Episode I–The Phantom Menace,”has made his first public appearance in years. In an Instagram video posted Wednesday, the 37-year-old appeared alongside Daniel Logan, 39, who played young Boba Fett in“Attack of the Clones.”The two shared a simple message with fans: thank you.
The video comes three years after Lloyd suffered a psychotic break in March 2023, which led to an 18-month inpatient rehab program. Lloyd was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2008, and his mother Lisa has said he is doing much better and still loves Star Wars. Logan’s caption also addressed something heavier: both actors have faced bullying from adults since childhood, writing that“they say it comes with the territory but an 8 year old and 13 year old have no idea what that truly means.”
For anyone who grew up on the prequels, this one lands differently. Lloyd and Logan were just kids when they were handed some of the biggest roles in pop culture, and the spotlight came with backlash they never signed up for. Seeing them back on screen together, thanking fans despite everything, is a reminder that the people behind the characters are human first.
