The Season 2 premiere of“9-1-1: Nashville”ended with a moment fans weren’t expecting. As the episode closed Thursday night, a title card appeared on screen:“In Loving Memory, Fiona Lowe,”featuring her name and photo. Fiona was the daughter of Chad Lowe, an executive producer and director on the series. She died by suicide on September 29 at just 13 years old.

What makes the tribute even more meaningful is that Chad Lowe directed the premiere episode itself, titled“Going Rogue.”In a statement, the family remembered Fiona as a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance. She was the middle child of Lowe and wife Kim Painter, between Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10. Mabel shared an emotional tribute to her sister, and David Boreanaz, Lowe’s former“Bones”co-star, also paid his respects.

The family’s statement included the 988 Suicide&Crisis Lifeline, a free and confidential resource available 24/7 for anyone in crisis.
