Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan have officially released their first collaboration together: a remix of“Expectations”from Rodrigo’s album“You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love.”Produced by Dan Nigro, the remix gives the track a fresh, playful energy that fans have been begging for since rumors of a team-up started circulating.
The accompanying music video takes things to another level. Directed by Bardia Zeinali, it parodies’80s and’90s gameshows with a fictional show called“The Big Expectations Show.”Rodrigo and Roan play competing contestants, while David Byrne of Talking Heads steps in as the gameshow host. Dan Nigro also appears as a special guest. The whole thing is weird, colorful, and completely on-brand for both artists.
The remix is available now on limited edition 7-inch vinyl, CD, and cassette for collectors. This collaboration follows Roan’s recent performance at Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival, which raised millions for women’s and girls’organizations. Rodrigo’s“Unraveled”world tour continues, with an 11-night residency at The O2 in London scheduled for April 5 through May 10, 2027. Which version are you grabbing: vinyl, CD, or cassette? Let us know in the comments.
