The Zelda game that defined a generation is back, and this time it looks and sounds better than ever. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake launches today for Nintendo Switch 2, nearly 30 years after the original arrived on the Nintendo 64 in 1998. The remake keeps the story, gameplay and puzzles fans love, while layering in modern graphics, voiced cutscenes, expanded dialogue and symphonic orchestral music.

Prices are $59.99 for a digital copy and $69.99 for physical, and it’s available at Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon and other retailers. If you want to go full fan mode, Best Buy also has a dedicated ocarina-themed controller for $49.99. The standout feature, though, is the Switch 2 microphone: you can whistle or hum ocarina melodies right into the console, which turns a beloved mechanic into something you actually do out loud.

Whether you’re a longtime fan who knows every song by heart or a newcomer who finally gets to see what the hype is about, this release is one of the biggest gaming moments of the season. Holiday shopping for a gamer just got a whole lot easier.

Are you picking it up today, or waiting to see if it lives up to the original? Let us know in the comments.
