Ye Returns to the Runway With Yeezy Season 01, Four Years After the Adidas Split

Ye is officially back on the runway. On Nov. 4, he unveiled Yeezy Season 01 at his new Los Angeles flagship, his first fashion show since the 2022 Paris presentation that came just before Adidas terminated the partnership. This time there’s no corporate backer, which makes the whole thing a test of whether the Yeezy name can carry itself.

The week leading up to the show was just as loud. He reportedly played Houston’s Reliant Stadium on Halloween to 80,210 fans, a crowd the venue is calling a U.S. stadium rap concert attendance record. Then came the runway moment: his four children with Kim Kardashian sat front row alongside wife Bianca Censori, with Big Sean, Kid Cudi and 2 Chainz among the guests. The family appearance drew plenty of praise online, along with the usual debate about whether the kids should be in the spotlight at all.

The context is impossible to skip. Adidas ended the Yeezy deal in October 2022 after his antisemitic remarks, leaving roughly $1.3 billion in unsold stock, and the lawsuits settled in October 2024. He apologized in a Wall Street Journal ad in January, though a U.K. entry ban already cost him a Wireless Festival headlining spot. His 2026 tour closes with stadium dates in Arlington and Glendale, so the next chapter is already scheduled. Do you think Yeezy works without Adidas, or does the brand need the machine behind it?
