Nicole Eggert is speaking out about a 1995 Howard Stern appearance, and her description is heavy. In a new oral history book by Greg Prato called“The Great American Nightmare: An Oral History of The Howard Stern Show,”the Baywatch alum says Stern criticized her outfit and demanded she wear a bikini on air. She also says she felt she couldn’t decline because the show was number one at the time, and turning it down could have upset the people managing her career. She described the studio as not a safe environment.

The moment that’s really resonating? Eggert said watching the old clip back made her want to reach out and hug her younger self. She also said she was programmed to just go in and let it slide off her back. It’s a candid look at how much pressure young stars faced to smile through uncomfortable interviews when the cameras were rolling and the ratings were huge.

The book also revisits other Stern controversies, including a former staffer who regrets an on-air memorial that used a fan’s ashes, and an $8 million lawsuit from a late fan’s family that settled before trial. It all feeds into a bigger conversation about consent, shock-jock tactics, and whether old clips should be revisited or left alone. What do you think? Should these moments be reexamined, or is it time to move on? Drop your take in the comments.
