Teyana Taylor’s first feature film as a director just added serious star power. Nia Long has joined“Get Lite,”the Paramount film currently shooting in New York City, alongside an ensemble that includes Storm Reid, Ceyair Wright, Leslie Odom Jr., Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, and Jodie Turner-Smith.

The film centers on a sheltered dance student, played by Wright, who finds inspiration and a chosen family in the New York City subway system. The screenplay, written by Maurice Williams from an Eric Gross draft that landed on the 2020 Black List, blends dance culture with classic New York storytelling. Long and Reid previously shared the screen in the 2023 thriller“Missing,”so their reunion gives longtime fans something extra to look forward to.

Paramount has set a wide theatrical release for August 20, 2027. For Taylor, the project marks a major pivot from hitmaker to filmmaker, while Long continues a huge year that already includes a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and a role in the Michael Jackson biopic.

Which member of this cast are you most excited to see on screen together?
