Todd and Julie Chrisley are facing more than $1.5 million in unpaid federal taxes after the IRS filed a lien against them in Davidson County, Tennessee. According to records obtained by Page Six, the filing on August 19 covers two unpaid assessments: $142,410 for December 2021 and $1,429,041 for December 2022, bringing the total to $1,571,452.
The timing is what has everyone talking. The lien arrived more than a year after the Chrisley Knows Best couple received presidential pardons for their tax evasion and bank and wire fraud convictions. Todd, 57, and Julie, 53, were convicted in 2022 and released from prison following the pardons. Neither has publicly addressed the new lien.
It’s a reminder that pardons erase convictions, not financial obligations. The couple has spent the past year rebuilding, with daughter Savannah, 29, leading the family’s podcast and media push while Todd and Julie have talked openly about a stronger marriage and a fresh chapter. What do you think: should a pardon wipe out the debt too, or does the IRS always get the last word?
