Kaitlyn Bristowe's Dog Pinot Beats 20 Percent Odds After Eating 120 Heart Pills

Kaitlyn Bristowe’s dog Pinot is home after a terrifying close call. The former Bachelorette says a pharmacy sent an unexpected formulation of his heart medication, two bottles of chicken-flavored chewables instead of the usual single bottle, and Pinot got into all 120 pills and was rushed to a New York emergency room.

The news got worse before it got better. Vets gave Pinot a 20 percent chance to survive and told Bristowe to say goodbye as he was placed on a ventilator and suffered seizures. After five days in critical care at Schwarzman Animal Medical Center, Pinot came home and reunited with Bristowe’s other dog, Ramen. He remains on round-the-clock medication, and Bristowe says she now believes in miracles.

Bachelor Nation, including Becca Tilley and Trista Sutter, flooded the comments with support, and Bristowe is asking fans to donate to the hospital that saved her pup. It’s a scary reminder for every pet owner to keep medications sealed and stored far out of reach. Have you ever had a pet emergency that ended in a happy ending? Tell us in the comments.
