Judge Judy Is Retiring This October, But She's Not Done Yet

Judge Judy Sheindlin is officially closing out her run as TV’s most famous judge. The final episode of Judy Justice airs this October, and she told People she has a lot of other interests and doesn’t want to do hair and makeup anymore. But she still wants her message out there. Consider it a retirement on her own terms.

That doesn’t mean she’s leaving TV behind. She’s developing an adult animated series based on her own life, and she’s executive producing Adam’s Law, a new courtroom show starring her son Adam Levy. Adam’s Law begins airing in syndication on September 14th, so the family business continues. And if you still need your fix, Judy Justice keeps streaming on Prime Video.

For anyone who grew up watching her hand down verdicts after school, this is the end of a genuine daytime TV era.
