Hulu has officially picked up Ryan Coogler’s reimagining of The X-Files to series. Danielle Deadwyler and Himesh Patel will star as two highly decorated but vastly different FBI agents assigned to a long-shuttered division devoted to unexplained phenomena. Coogler wrote, directed, and executive produced the pilot, with Jennifer Yale serving as showrunner.

The talent stacked behind the camera is just as notable as the cast in front of it. Ludwig Göransson scored the pilot, following in the footsteps of original composer Mark Snow, and the pilot features guest turns from Amy Madigan and Steve Buscemi. There’s no premiere date yet, but the pieces are clearly in place.

Coogler said he’s loved The X-Files for a long time and that getting to write and direct the pilot meant a great deal to him. He also said the team wanted to honor what Chris Carter created while finding their own way into that world. So here’s the real question: in the new duo, who’s the believer and who’s the skeptic? Tell us your pick.
