Eric Dane’s posthumous memoir,“My Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments,”is pulling no punches. In an excerpt obtained by People, the actor describes his 20s as his“dark period,”running through a list of substances that includes heroin, cocaine, crystal meth, crack, mushrooms, mescaline, acid, and painkillers like Vicodin, Percocet, and OxyContin. His summary of it all:“I don’t think there’s a drug I didn’t try.”
The book also shares a moment that’s hard to shake. Dane writes that his youngest daughter, Georgia, now 14, saved him from drowning in Antigua after his ALS diagnosis. It’s a window into the family dynamic behind the headlines, one that includes wife Rebecca Gayheart and older daughter Billie, 16.
Dane died February 19 at 53, of respiratory failure resulting from ALS. The memoir arrives November 3, giving fans one last chance to hear his story in his own words. Will you be picking up a copy? Let us know in the comments.
