Dafne Keen is opening up about a side of Hollywood that child stars rarely talk about. The 21-year-old actress told the“Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum”podcast that she was offered cocaine at wrap parties when she was just 11, 12 and 13 years old.“I was getting offered coke at wrap parties. Like, tiny,”she said. Keen, who started acting at age nine, also witnessed heavy drinking among the adults around her.
Those experiences didn’t derail her. They did the opposite. Keen says seeing adult substance use up close killed her interest in drinking and drugs, and she’s never been drunk enough to have a hangover. As a teenager, she even lied about already being high so that peer pressure would stop. During her time on Logan, she credited Hugh Jackman with protecting her working hours and making sure she had fun on set.
Keen, now 21, has built an impressive resume with Logan, His Dark Materials, The Acolyte and Deadpool&Wolverine. Her story raises real questions about how young performers are supervised on film sets, and it offers a rare sober perspective from someone who grew up in the spotlight. What do you think Hollywood should change to better protect child actors?
