Carrot Top is heading back to the Las Vegas strip. The comedian, whose real name is Scott Christopher Thompson, has shows scheduled at the Luxor starting Oct. 19, about three weeks after he was hospitalized following a suicide attempt at his home on Sept. 18. He was released from the hospital around Sept. 26 and was first spotted publicly at church services on Oct. 4.

The hospitalization followed a legal dispute with his former opener, Brian Evans, over an alleged $500,000 settlement tied to threats of releasing a sexually explicit video. Evans has denied the allegations, stating he never threatened to post any video in exchange for a settlement and adding that he was sorry Thompson“apparently did something to hurt himself.”Thompson’s manager reportedly requested a welfare check after receiving a text from the comedian that simply read“done.”

Thompson’s return to the Luxor marks a significant comeback for a performer whose residency has been a Vegas staple for years. His story also puts a spotlight on mental health in the entertainment industry, where the pressure to perform can hide serious struggles. If you or someone you know needs support, call or text 988.
