Cristina’s parents, Mariano and Beatriz, shared the news via her Instagram page on Tuesday, revealing that their daughter collapsed while at her Day Program and was rushed to the hospital. Despite the medical team’s efforts to stabilize her heart, she didn’t survive. In their statement, they reflected on the shock of losing her so unexpectedly, emphasizing how grateful they were to be by her side at the end.

For four seasons, Born This Way showcased Cristina’s life and aspirations on A&E from 2015 to 2019. The groundbreaking series followed adults with Down syndrome as they navigated careers, relationships, and independence. On the show, viewers watched Cristina’s journey, including her relationship with her then-husband, Angel—a partnership that ended in 2021.
