Prince Harry Publicly Asks Prince William to Reconcile, and Royal Watchers Expect Total Silence Back

Prince Harry is making his pitch for a royal reconciliation very, very public. In a GQ interview published Tuesday, the Duke of Sussex said“the most important thing is to reconcile”when it comes to his brother, Prince William. It’s a headline-making statement from a man who hasn’t reportedly spoken to William since 2022.

Royal journalist Tom Sykes told Page Six that William is unlikely to answer, and that the lack of response is the message.“I would be astonished if he responded publicly. He never does, and his silence is itself the response,”Sykes said, adding that William is frustrated by being lectured about the rift in public. The interview also included Harry’s claim that“some people don’t want it to work out,”which his spokesperson quickly denied was aimed at his family.

Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan moved back to the UK in August after six years in California, and King Charles III confirmed the couple will remain private citizens without official royal duties. So the geography has changed, but the silence apparently hasn’t. Do you think William should respond publicly, or is this a conversation that belongs behind closed doors?
