Blue Ivy, 14, Towers Over Beyoncé at Houston Youth Housing Ribbon-Cutting

Blue Ivy Carter is 14 years old, and she is officially taller than Beyoncé. The pair appeared together in Houston on Tuesday for the ribbon-cutting of the Knowles-Rowland House, and the height difference became the moment everyone clipped first. Rumi, 9, grandmother Tina Knowles, and Kelly Rowland also joined them on stage.

The building itself has a story. It opened as a gymnasium in 1999, then after Hurricane Harvey and a later fire it was rebuilt into 31 supportive housing units for chronically homeless people. The family name is on the building, and on Tuesday the family showed up in person to open it.

It was also Blue Ivy’s first major public outing in months, capping off a year that included the Met Gala and a surprise piano performance at Jay-Z’s Yankee Stadium show. Tina Knowles has said Blue has perfect pitch, and that if she hears a song she’ll ask for it again and teach herself. So the next chapter of this family business might already be in the room.

What’s the first song you’d want Blue Ivy to play on piano? Tell us in the comments.
