AURORA has officially entered Middle-earth. The Norwegian alt-pop star teamed up with Emmy-winning composer Bear McCreary for“Morning Shall Come,”an original song written for season three of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, out now via Capitol Records. The pair wrote the music together, with lyrics by McCreary and showrunner J.D. Payne, and the track soundtracks the story of Galadriel and Celeborn.

The rollout is stacked. The official music video premieres November 9 exclusively on Amazon Music before moving to AURORA’s YouTube, filmed as a performance that travels from Sky Studios in London to the treetops of Rivendell. Then on November 13, the complete soundtrack arrives on all digital and streaming platforms, featuring The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices, Finland’s Mieskuoro Huutajat, Meshuggah’s Jens Kidman, and cast members Sophia Nomvete and Morfydd Clark. An expanded collector’s edition will follow later.

AURORA called being part of this ancient story“such an honour,”adding that working with Bear and the team was“an adventure in itself.”It’s been a huge year for her between TOMORA and The Moth Tapes anniversary release, and this might be her most cinematic moment yet. Are you streaming“Morning Shall Come”on repeat, or waiting for the full soundtrack?
