Something old is officially the biggest thing in weddings right now. According to the 2026 Wedding Style Report from Zola and Poshmark, 78% of couples are working vintage details into their celebrations, and the search data backs it up, with triple-digit growth in searches for vintage white gowns, veils and shoes, plus a 75% jump in vintage jewelry searches on Etsy over the last three months.
The most personal twist is upcycling. Brides are bringing family dresses to boutiques for reimagining sessions that cost around $300 and take four to six months, turning heirloom gowns into modernized designs or second looks. One vintage boutique sells gowns from $250 to $500 and serves clients from 17 to 75, proof that retro style isn’t just for brides anymore. Couples are also pulling in family rings, teacups, vases and cake stands to make their day feel completely their own.
Trend experts say the shift is partly a reaction to social media algorithms. Going vintage means a one-of-one wedding, a sustainability story and a whole lot of personality. Plus, the hunt for that perfect piece is half the fun.
