U2 are officially back. The band just released“The Greatest Show On Earth,”a new single co-written with Brian Eno, and it’s the latest preview of their sixteenth album,“Carnaval De Luz,”arriving November 13. The track comes with a video directed by Anton Corbijn and filmed in the Californian desert, a satirical take on religion and gender roles that’s already got fans dissecting every frame.
If that weren’t enough, U2 also announced the first dates of their 2027 world stadium tour. The opening leg hits Mexico City, São Paulo, and Buenos Aires in February and March, with Beck supporting. More dates across the UK, Europe, and North America are expected to be revealed soon. It marks the band’s first full-scale tour since their Sphere residency ended in early 2024, so this has been a long time coming for fans.
One more detail worth knowing: the album’s closing track reportedly features Dolly Parton’s last-ever recorded performance. Bono described the new single as a dare“to try and have the best night of anybody’s life.”Tickets go on general sale October 22, with a U2.com pre-sale starting October 19.
