Tyrese Gibson Puts Brakes on Fast 11 Questions Before Cody Walker Can Answer

When you’ve got secrets locked down tighter than a high-speed car chase, sometimes the best move is to physically remove the person about to spill them.

That’s exactly what actor Tyrese Gibson did when we caught up with him and Cody Walker—Paul Walker’s brother—at an In-N-Out near Universal Studios on Thursday. The two were gearing up to cohost FeulFest at the OC Fair&Event Center in Costa Mesa this weekend, but our interest lay elsewhere: the possibility of Paul’s character, Brian O’Conner, returning for the 11th installment of the Fast&Furious franchise, titled Fast Forever.

The moment we started asking Cody about a potential comeback, Tyrese swooped in like a protective pit crew chief.“Alright, alright, alright. We can’t talk about that. We can’t talk about that, man,”he said, before practically ushering Cody into a truck and playfully pretending to be his security. It was the kind of deflection that speaks volumes—not through words, but through the unmistakable body language of someone who knows exactly what’s at stake.

The intrigue makes sense. Last year at FeulFest, Vin Diesel revealed he had three conditions for Fast 11, one of which was reuniting his character, Dominic Toretto, with Paul’s. That’s a big deal. Paul tragically died in a car crash in 2013 while Fast&Furious 7 was still in production, but the franchise managed to complete his scenes using CGI, VFX, and the help of his brothers Cody and Caleb. The technology has only gotten better since then.

Fast 11 is set to wrap up the entire franchise when it arrives in March 2028. Whether Brian O’Conner makes a final run or stays in the rearview mirror remains one of Hollywood’s tightest-kept secrets—at least until someone like Tyrese decides to hit the brakes.
