Trump Crashes Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Wedding With MSG Billboard Spoof

Leave it to President Donald Trump to show up uninvited—at least digitally—to one of the year’s biggest celebrity moments. While Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were exchanging vows at Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 3, the White House was busy hijacking their wedding day with some trolling that only Trump could pull off.

The newlyweds, both 36, had arranged for digital billboards outside the iconic venue to announce their union with JusT&T Married. A sweet touch, right? Not for long. The White House’s official X account posted a parody version where those same billboards instead read Trump is your president, captioned with IT’S HAPPENED!!! It’s the kind of move that screams“I’m going to make this about me,”and honestly, it landed exactly as intended—drawing instant attention and conversation.

This latest jab fits squarely into Trump’s well-documented feud with Swift. Back in September 2024, after the Grammy winner endorsed Kamala Harris in the presidential election, Trump didn’t hold back, posting I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT! on Truth Social. The shots continued in May 2025 when he took aim at her appearance with another Truth Social post that raised eyebrows. Yet there’s a twist to this story: when asked about Swift and Kelce’s engagement in August 2025, Trump struck a different tone entirely, telling reporters he wished them luck and calling Kelce a great player and Swift a terrific person.

So what’s really going on here? Trump’s wedding day theatrics reveal a pattern of hot-and-cold behavior toward Swift—genuine criticism one moment, then surprising civility the next. The billboard spoof is classic Trump: attention-grabbing, pointed, but ultimately harmless comedy at a major public event. Swift and Kelce got their moment at MSG; Trump got his moment on social media. Both sides got what they wanted.

The couple, who were first linked in summer 2023 and announced their engagement in August 2025 with a proposal photo captioned Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married, likely knew what they were walking into by choosing such a public venue. And if Trump’s antics were meant to overshadow their day, the couple’s choice of Madison Square Garden—one of the world’s most recognizable event spaces—suggests they were ready for anything.
