Ryan Lochte’s fiancée Molly Gillihan opened up about his custody arrangement during an Instagram Q&A, saying the Olympian sees his three kids monthly plus holidays and most of summer. Ex-wife Kayla Rae Reid pushed back, saying custody is split equally during holidays and the kids spend one month with their dad in summer, adding that she handles most of the parenting and financial support.

Lochte responded in a statement after deleting an earlier post at Gillihan’s request. He said the pair miss the kids and love them very much, and that they can’t control the narrative Reid has built over the past year. He also referenced his 2016 mental health crisis while asking people to consider the effects of smear campaigns, public shaming and online bullying.
