Tom Cruise's "Digger" Gets Zero Stars From New York Post: "Laugh-Free Turd"

Tom Cruise has been on an absolute tear for the past decade.“Top Gun: Maverick”crushed the box office. The“Mission: Impossible”franchise keeps getting bigger. But his latest film,“Digger,”just got absolutely demolished by the New York Post, which gave it zero stars and called it a“laugh-free turd.”

The R-rated satire stars Cruise as Digger Rockwell, a Texas oil tycoon whose drilling operations trigger an arctic ice shelf collapse that threatens all of Europe. Director Alejandro González Iñárritu co-wrote the film, and the cast includes John Goodman, Riz Ahmed, and Sandra Hüller. Despite those prestige names, the review says the movie lacks a single funny joke or believable moment, citing a secret mid-film twist and a pretentious frame story as reasons audiences will check out early. It’s Cruise’s first original title character since 1996’s“Jerry Maguire,”and critics are calling it his first real stinker in nearly ten years.
