This Mom Did a Squat Every Time Her Toddler Said "Mom" and Hit 200 Reps Before Noon

Jess Sharp, a 34-year-old mom from upstate New York, found a workout hiding inside her morning routine: one squat for every time her 4-year-old daughter Amelia said“Mom.”Amelia said it more than 200 times, and Sharp’s legs paid the price. The soreness lasted two days, and she admitted that going up and down the stairs was a genuine struggle.

The video hit TikTok and the comments rolled in, including one prediction that she’d be“quadzilla”by the end of the week. Sharp hasn’t repeated the squat version, but she’s tried a burpee take on the challenge and other quick movement“snacks.”She also once got her husband to pay a dollar for every“Mom,”and that count reached 405. That’s hundreds of dollars for doing nothing but being extremely available.

The story lands because it’s genuinely funny, but also because it points at something real. Research from 2022 found fewer than half of moms with young children meet general exercise guidelines, averaging only 18 to 19 minutes of activity per day. Sharp turned her regular chaos into a workout. Most days, that might be the only opening there is.

So we have to ask: how many times does your kid say“Mom”or“Dad”before noon? Drop your estimate in the comments, and be honest.
