The Gentlemen Season 3 is getting a serious upgrade. Netflix announced that Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, Robert Carlyle, Dexter Fletcher, Bruna Marquezine, Ed Speleers, Saffron Burrows and Bugzy Malone are all joining Guy Ritchie’s crime series. It’s a stacked list, and the Bloom-Wood pairing has Lord of the Rings fans already imagining the crossover potential.
The flip side: Daniel Ings is leaving after two seasons as Lord Frederick“Freddy”Horniman. Freddy was the show’s resident agent of chaos, so his absence will be felt. Still, a cast this deep gives the series plenty of new energy to work with.
Then there’s the Meghan Markle drama that never actually materialized. After months of speculation, Netflix never confirmed her casting. Page Six reports she never received a formal offer and had one conversation with the casting director, while a friend of the Duchess claims the streamer used the rumors to promote Season 2. Netflix executive Manda Levin only offered“all bets are off”at the Edinburgh TV Festival.
So what’s your read: is this just how streaming publicity works now, or did a rumor get out of hand? Tell us in the comments.
