Taylor Swift Scores First CMA Nomination in Four Years for "I Knew It, I Knew You"

Taylor Swift is officially back in the CMA conversation. The superstar just earned her first CMA Awards nomination in four years, picking up a Single of the Year nod for“I Knew It, I Knew You,”her first time in that category since 2013.

The song arrived in June on the Toy Story 5 soundtrack and didn’t waste any time, topping the Billboard Hot 100, hitting No. 1 on Hot Country Songs, and climbing to No. 8 on Country Airplay. She’s up against Ella Langley, Lainey Wilson, and Cody Johnson, which makes this one of the toughest categories of the night.

What makes this nomination land differently is how openly Taylor has been talking about her Nashville roots lately. She last won a CMA in 2017 as a songwriter on Little Big Town’s“Better Man,”and she’s said the people who shaped her as an artist all came from Nashville.
