Taylor Swift Earns First CMA Nomination in 4 Years for "I Knew It, I Knew You"

Taylor Swift is officially back in the CMA conversation. The superstar just earned her first CMA Awards nomination in four years, picking up a Single of the Year nod for her 2026 track“I Knew It, I Knew You.”It’s her first Single of the Year nomination since 2013, marking a major full-circle moment for an artist who launched her career in country music before becoming a global pop force.

The song itself has been unstoppable.“I Knew It, I Knew You”topped the Hot Country Songs chart and hit Number One on the Billboard Hot 100. It also became the first song by a woman to have every Mediabase-reporting country station play it during its first week, a record that shows just how wide the reach of this track has been. Swift released the song in June as part of the Toy Story 5 soundtrack. She’s competing in the category against Ella Langley, Lainey Wilson, and Cody Johnson.

Swift celebrated the news on Instagram Stories, writing,“LOOKS LIKE I HAVEN’T YEE’D MY LAST HAW THANK YOU CMA!!!!”She added that she loves her country roots more and more the further along this path she gets and wants to honor them.
