Taylor Swift added another historic line to her resume Monday night, becoming the youngest person ever inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame at 36. Brad Paisley presented the honor at Music City Center, and Lainey Wilson performed“Love Story”for the ceremony. The induction came just two days after the 20th anniversary of her self-titled debut album, released October 24, 2006.

In her acceptance speech, Swift traced her path back to moving to Nashville at 14, signing with Sony/ATV, and writing on Music Row with early collaborators like Liz Rose.“It’s not lost on me how crazy this is,”she told the room, calling Nashville“the place that honed and polished the thing about myself and the thing about my life that I am the most proud of.”The night also honored Lyle Lovett, Lee Thomas Miller, Shawn Camp, Bruce Channel, and the late J.I. Allison, with George Strait receiving the Career Maker Award.

The milestone follows her June induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, where she became the youngest woman ever recognized, making 2026 a back-to-back Hall of Fame year. Twenty years after her debut, the songwriting foundation she built in Nashville is officially part of the city’s history.
