Taylor Momsen to Sing With Soundgarden at Seahawks Halftime Show, Final Chris Cornell Album Confirmed

Soundgarden is making a major return to the stage at the Seattle Seahawks home opener on Sept. 9 against the New England Patriots. The band, featuring Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron, and Ben Shepherd, will headline the halftime show with Pretty Reckless frontwoman Taylor Momsen as the guest vocalist. Momsen previously performed with the band at the Rock&Roll Hall of Fame induction and a 2019 benefit, both times honoring the legacy of late frontman Chris Cornell.

The night is stacked with more Seattle music royalty. Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready will perform the National Anthem before kickoff, while country star Luke Bryan headlines the pregame Salute 250 Kickoff Concert. The game itself is a Super Bowl LX rematch, adding even more intensity to an already electric atmosphere.

Adding to the emotional weight of the performance, Soundgarden recently confirmed they are mixing a final album featuring the last group of songs recorded with Chris Cornell.
