Steven McBee Sr. is back at his Gallatin, Missouri farm after being released from federal custody. The 53-year-old reality star, best known from Bravo’s The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys, pleaded guilty in 2024 to a crop insurance fraud scheme involving the sale of more than 1.2 million bushels of corn and nearly 416,000 bushels of soybeans. He was sentenced to two years in October 2025, but served less than a year.
His son Steven McBee Jr. announced the release on September 11, and the family flooded social media with reaction. Cole McBee, 27, introduced his baby daughter Tate, who was born in August, to her grandfather shortly after his return. McBee Sr. wrote that he’s finding“a little more appreciation for the simple things in life,”while the family called it the best 24 hours they’ve had in a long time.
The legal side isn’t finished. McBee still has to pay over $4 million in restitution, forfeited $3,158,923, and is under home confinement for four to six months.
