KATSEYE’s Sophia Laforteza is stepping into a whole new lane. She recorded a cover of INXS’s“Never Tear Us Apart”for DreamWorks Animation’s“Forgotten Island,”and Billboard is debuting an exclusive bonus feature that takes fans inside the studio session.
In the footage, Sophia works alongside composer Nathan Matthew David, producer Mike Elizondo, and directors Joel Crawford and Januel P. Mercado. Crawford praised her connection to the film’s themes of friendship and Philippine mythology, saying she has the story“in her DNA, in her soul.”Sophia called the experience“one of the most beautiful things I think I’ll ever do.”The film lands on digital Tuesday with over 60 minutes of bonus content, followed by 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD releases on December 1.
On the KATSEYE front, Sophia is currently on hiatus for mental health reasons and is set to return to group activities in January 2027. Which soundtrack cover has stuck with you the longest? Tell us in the comments.
