Snoop Dogg has been tapped to host the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, and the show is heading back to the West Coast for the first time since 2017. The ceremony airs live from Los Angeles on Sunday, September 27 at 7:30 p.m. ET on CBS, simulcasts on MTV, and streams on Paramount+.
For Snoop, the gig is personal. He made his VMA debut in 1994, has three VMA wins, and has delivered some of the show’s most memorable performances, including sets with Dr. Dre and Eminem and a standout Notorious B.I.G. tribute. In a statement, he called hosting the show a full-circle moment.
The night is packed with star power. Madonna and Taylor Swift lead this year’s nominations, while Nirvana is set to receive the Video Vanguard Award. Producer Van Toffler is behind the show through Gunpowder&Sky.
