Singer Cara Says She Was Assaulted Over a Front Row Seat at New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week is supposed to be about the clothes. This year, it’s about a chair. Singer-songwriter Cara says she was assaulted at Bibhu Mohapatra’s show after organizers escorted her to a front row seat that apparently belonged to another attendee, per a Page Six spy. According to Cara’s account, the woman made a scene, insisted the seat was hers, then dug her nails into Cara’s arm and pulled her out of the chair, leaving a bruise. Cara attended Frederick Anderson’s show the next day wearing long sleeves, which fans quickly connected to the injury claim.

The other side tells a much smaller story. The accused woman says she only touched Cara lightly, trying to reassure her that staff would sort the seating out, and that Cara shrieked about being assaulted. An onlooker called the whole ordeal ridiculous and said there was no physical altercation at all. A rep for Mohapatra’s show declined to comment, which leaves us with two people, two versions, and one very contested front row seat.
