SE Lee Blvd. Westbound Bridge in Lawton: What Drivers Need to Know About the 210-Day Rebuild

Drivers on Southeast Lee Boulevard have a new routine for the next several months. The westbound bridge over East Cache Creek, just east of the Lawton Soccer Club, is being rebuilt, and the work began September 14. During construction, westbound traffic crosses the creek on a single lane of the eastbound bridge, and eastbound traffic is reduced to one lane there as well. No additional lane closures are planned, but the shift affects one of Lawton’s busiest corridors.

The numbers explain the slowdown. According to ODOT, about 20,100 vehicles traveled two-way through the area just west of the bridges last year. Access to the Lawton Soccer Club and surrounding properties remains open throughout the project, so weekend games and practices are not interrupted. The rebuild is scheduled to last 210 days, with completion targeted for mid-April 2027, though weather or unexpected conditions could shift that timeline.

For commuters, the practical advice is simple: allow extra travel time, particularly during morning and afternoon rush hours, and consider an alternate route if you have one.
