Oklahoma is heading into Tuesday’s General Election with the largest registered electorate in state history. According to the State Election Board, 2,455,735 voters were registered as of Nov. 1 — a net gain of 49,567 since mid-January. Growth showed up across every group: Republicans added 21,998 registrations, Democrats 18,316, Independents 8,881, and Libertarians 372, continuing their steady yearly climb.

The party breakdown puts Republicans at 53.11% of registered voters, Democrats at 25.56%, Independents at 20.37%, and Libertarians at 0.97%. That Independent share is worth watching — one in five Oklahoma voters isn’t tied to either major party, and in close local races here in Comanche County, they can swing the outcome.

Secretary of the State Election Board Paul Ziriax said he’s excited to see Oklahomans exercising their right to register, but stressed the need to keep the momentum going and actually cast a ballot. For Lawton voters — including Fort Sill families and Comanche Nation members — the next step is simple: verify your registration and make a plan to vote Tuesday. Have you checked your registration status yet?
