Rosalía took over Saturday Night Live this weekend with two performances that felt more like a short film than a late-night slot. For“Reliquia,”she danced en pointe for the entire song while singing live, no small feat on a stage known for punishing live vocals. Then she flipped the script for“Magnolias,”singing against a stark black backdrop as rain poured down around her.
Both songs come from LUX, the album Consequence crowned the best of 2025. The record features a full orchestra and lyrics in 16 different languages, and Rosalía recently wrapped a tour built around its five-act structure. Shrinking that kind of spectacle down to Studio 8H is a risk, and she pulled it off.
Big things are still ahead. Grammy nominations arrive next month, and she’s set to appear on U2’s upcoming album. Which of the two SNL performances do you think was better, the ballet or the rain? Tell us in the comments.
