Rhea Seehorn is officially an Emmy winner in the lead actress category. At the 2026 Emmys on September 14, she took home Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Carol Sturka in Apple TV’s Pluribus. It was her first nomination and first victory in the category, following three previous Emmy nods, including two for her fan-favorite run on Better Call Saul.
The competition was stacked. Seehorn beat out Carrie Coon, Chase Infiniti, Keri Russell and Zendaya, who had already won this category twice for Euphoria. In her acceptance speech, she thanked Pluribus creator Vince Gilligan for giving her“the role of a lifetime”and for building sets where the cast feels safe to take creative risks, and she credited her cast and crew for pushing her work further.
The win is a milestone for Seehorn, years in the making, and another big moment for Apple TV’s awards run. It also keeps the conversation going about sci-fi’s growing momentum in the major drama categories. So did you have Seehorn winning your Emmy pool, or were you team Zendaya?
