Flea’s Silverlake Conservatory of Music is turning 25, and the celebration is a full public concert at the Hollywood Palladium on October 17th. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Grohl, Vince Staples, and Marc Maron are all on the bill, marking a shift from the school’s usual private annual dinner to a show anyone can attend.
The nonprofit has come a long way since Flea co-founded it in 2001 with Keith“Tree”Barry and Peter Weiss. These days SCM reaches more than 900 students every week, and over 200 of them attend on scholarships. The anniversary benefit is expected to raise roughly $1.5 million to fund the school’s operations and keep those programs running.
Tickets go on general sale Friday, September 25th at 10 a.m. PDT through Ticketmaster, following a pre-sale on Thursday, September 24th. With a lineup this stacked and a cause this solid, it’s one of the fall’s biggest LA nights. Are you trying to grab tickets? Let us know in the comments.
