Céline Dion Playing Air Bass at Metallica's Sphere Show Is the Crossover We Didn't Know We Needed

Céline Dion is a Metallica fan, and she has the air bass skills to prove it. Fan-filmed footage from the band’s Nov. 5 Life Burns Faster residency at Sphere in Las Vegas shows Dion up in a suite, fully locked in as she mimics bassist Robert Trujillo during the show’s“Kirk and Rob Doodle”instrumental segment.

The moment tracks with everything Dion has said about her household music taste. She’s named Metallica as a favorite of her twin son Eddy and has included“Until It Sleeps”on a personal playlist. Slash and members of No Doubt were reportedly in attendance as well, making the night a full-on celebrity crossover at one of Vegas’s hottest venues.

The clip also lands during a meaningful chapter for Dion, who returned to full-length concerts in September after a six-year absence while navigating her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis. Metallica’s 2026 residency dates wrap Nov. 7 before resuming in January 2027. Which celebrity would you most want to see pop up at a concert like this?
