Rebecca Gayheart Urges Fans to Sign ALS Petition Before Sunday's Deadline

Rebecca Gayheart is asking her followers to do one thing before Sunday: sign the I Am ALS petition supporting the ACT for ALS Bill. In a Friday Instagram post, she linked the petition directly and urged people to sign or share it, writing,“Please help us make sure that Congress does not continue to delay the passing of this bill.”The legislation could allocate $500 million toward ALS research and treatment access, and according to Gayheart, the petition drive ends this weekend.

The timing carries weight. Eric Dane died in February at 53 after a roughly one-year battle with ALS. The two married in 2004, separated in 2018, and in 2025, following his diagnosis, Gayheart withdrew her divorce petition. Their daughters, Billie and Georgia, are part of the family she referenced when she added,“Getting this passed would mean the world to my family.”

So what’s the move here? The petition is public, the deadline is Sunday, and a signature takes less time than watching a reel. If ALS research funding matters to you, or if this story just hit you the way it hit us, the link is out there. Do you think celebrity advocacy actually moves Congress, or does it just move headlines?
