Presley Gerber, Son of Cindy Crawford, Dies at 27 After Years of Publicly Documenting His Addiction Battle

Presley Gerber, the 27-year-old son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, died Sunday at a Los Angeles rehab facility from a suspected overdose. His official cause of death has not been released. Presley had been open about his struggles with substance abuse since his 2018 DUI arrest at age 19, and in 2024 he publicly disclosed an opioid addiction. In the years that followed, he documented his recovery on social media through a series he called“Mental Health Mondays,”where he spoke candidly about his mental health and treatment. He marked five months of sobriety from alcohol in December 2025 before undergoing ibogaine treatment at a wellness clinic in Cancún in March 2026.

Just one month before his death, his family, including his sister Kaia Gerber, publicly praised his openness about his struggles. In a statement shared at the time, his brother described him as wanting to be“very human for everyone.”Presley himself had said he shared his journey publicly to create accountability for himself.
